Our commitment

On The Run Physical Therapy is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including patients who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is part of how we build and maintain this site, not an afterthought.

Conformance target

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced in the HHS Section 504 rule and commonly used as the benchmark in web accessibility law.

Measures we’ve taken

This site was built and audited with accessibility in mind. Some of the specific measures include:

  • A skip-to-main-content link on every page for keyboard users.
  • Semantic landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a logical heading structure on every page.
  • Descriptive alt text on informational images, including staff photos and credential badges.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, forms, and interactive components, with visible focus indicators throughout.
  • Labeled, validated forms with error messages that are announced to assistive technology, not conveyed by color alone.
  • Text and interface colors checked against WCAG AA contrast requirements.
  • Support for reduced-motion preferences: anyone with that operating system setting turned on sees this site with animation and auto-scrolling content minimized or removed.
  • Core content and navigation remain usable if JavaScript fails to load.

Known limitations

We rely on a small number of third-party services we don’t fully control the code of:

  • Our Google reviews widget is provided by a third-party vendor (Elfsight). We’ve reviewed it for basic keyboard and screen reader access, but can’t guarantee full conformance inside that embed. Our reviews are always readable directly on Google, linked from the same section.
  • Our online scheduler (“Patient Portal”) is hosted by a third-party platform outside this website. If you have trouble with it using assistive technology, please call or use the booking form on this site, which reaches the same scheduling team and never requires the external portal.
  • Embedded Google Maps directions panels rely on Google’s own interface, which we don’t control. A plain-text address and a “Take Me There” link are always provided alongside each map.

Ongoing review

We periodically review this site against WCAG 2.1 AA as content and design change, and we correct issues as we find them.

Feedback

If you use assistive technology and run into a barrier anywhere on this site, please let us know. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
